Welcome to Jacob's Canine Vetiquette, Service Dogs for Veterans & Others,

About Us

WELCOME

Hello! I'm Cathy Stephens, President & Lead Trainer of this 501C3 Nonprofit corporation. I am a certified dog trainer with a passion for our military. I have been a certified dog trainer since 2007. God laid it on my  heart several years ago to train service dogs for veterans. I proceeded with the schooling to learn the additional trade and began training service dogs in 2016. I wanted to do more for our veterans and help form a support group for other veterans with service dogs. While I was in process of forming this nonprofit, my only son, Jacob R. Stephens, passed unexpectedly September 19, 2018. After his passing my deep desire to heal and help veterans heal brought together Jacob's Canine Vetiquette, Service Dogs for Veterans & Others, Inc.

WHAT WE DO:

This corporation trains service dogs for all purposes, such as for autistic children, PTSD, brain injury, handicapped wheelchair mobile individuals and of course USA Veterans.  USA Military Veterans receive training at no cost and we provide their service dog vest and supplies at no cost.   For anyone needing a service dog we will help them find the right one for them via a local rescue. We will not purchase a dog from a breeder.  If you desire a service dog from a breeder and wish to purchase on your own, we will assist to help you find the right dog for your needs.  Its best to contact the trainer BEFORE getting your service dog. Depending on your need, the right dog needs to be able to help accomplish the tasks necessary for your disability. We reserve the right to deny a dog you have previously selected if it will not fit the needs. We are located in South Louisiana. We will work with you to help with a service dog if you can also work with us and are willing to travel with your dog for training purposes.

DO YOU NEED A SERVICE DOG?

If you are in  need of a service dog please contact us below. Please understand a service dog is a working for a  human with a disability.  Emotional support and therapy dogs are not allowed in public according to the American Disability Act. We will ask you many questions to determine your need. Some personal questions may also be asked, to determine your need for a service dog. If you are unwilling to answer the questions I am sorry we cannot help you.
